Emonet Psychology Services

Offering high-quality, multidisciplinary, collaborative assessment and treatment for children and families.

Both psychological testing and psychoeducational testing can help determine an accurate diagnosis by providing data that cannot be obtained by simply talking to or spending time with a child. For a gifted child, psychoeducational testing can help parents in educational planning, help determine whether a child may benefit from some form of acceleration, offer insight into a child’s behavior and learning characteristics and help determine eligibility for a special school programs for gifted students. Testing also identifies the social and emotional issues that can affect your child’s development.

Does your child have an issue that prevents them from finishing tests on time? Do they struggle with learning issues, attention problems, math or reading difficulties? Children who have testing accommodations through an IEP or a 504 plan can often get the same accommodations on the SAT or ACT.

Many children, teenagers, and adults struggle with ADHD and learning disabilities. These conditions can occur together and cause difficulties at school and work. A comprehensive evaluation will help identify your cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses. I work closely with your child, your family, and your teachers to provide practical feedback and recommendations for accommodations to help improve your performance in school and at work.

An accurate diagnosis becomes the basis for building an appropriate and effective treatment program. As with all autism spectrum disorders, early diagnosis and intervention offer the best chance for optimizing outcomes – including success in mainstream classrooms and the achievement of independence and a high quality of life in adulthood.

Therapy for children and teens builds helpful thinking patterns, wise emotional expression, effective social problem-solving skills, and healthy behavioral habits. Therapy is often indicated when youth have problems they can’t cope with on their own or when as parents and caregivers you feel you’ve exhausted your own resources for how to help.

The ability to focus attention is important for succeeding in school, work, and daily life. Cogmed Working Memory Training (Cogmed) provides an evidence-based program for helping children, adolescents, and adults sustainably improve attention by training their working memory.

New Patient

New Patient Information

The initial session is conducted with the parent/guardian(s) to discuss family history, school background, social/emotional background, developmental history, and current stressors or challenges. Following the first visit, I then meet with and interview the minor, and afterwards meet again with the parent/guardian(s) to provide initial assessment and treatment recommendations. Very often parent consultation services are provided as part of the treatment of the child - in order to educate and inform parents on understanding the complexities of emotional or behavioral challenges, and to provide tools to improve and enhance those challenges. My goal is for patients to participate in short term therapy and get back to living their life. I provide short-term, solution focused therapy.

For your first appointment, please print out and fill out the forms.  If you forget the form, please come 30 minutes early to your appointment where blank forms will be available.

Please bring any previous evaluations, such as: psychological testing, developmental testing, speech / language evaluations, occupational therapy evaluations, any written evaluations by a physician, and school board evaluations.

When you arrive, there is no need to check in. Enter Suite 201, have a seat and I will come greet you at your appointment time.
